About
Our City, Our Music will be a location-based album on the streets.  Its first project will be realised in Leeds and experienced using Global Positioning enabled handheld devices. It uses mscape software developed by Hewlett-Packard, which packs up audio and media files with GPS into one platform. Therefore it provides the opportunity for located experiences, in our case music videos filmed on location, re-experienced in situ using a handheld device.
The goals of the project are to support emerging musicians and filmmakers to create the content of the album, to create an archive of  local talent, and to encourage people to explore the city through music and narration.

How we have come to be:
With the support of Arts Council of England, Just-b. Productions collaborated with HP Labs to deliver an innovative commissioning scheme, Exploding Narratives 08 during the b.TWEEN08 Conference held at MOSI, in Manchester.

For the award ‘creatives’ from across the UK were invited to propose an mscape they would like to make.
Five finalists were awarded £1000 each to develop their seed ideas through an interactive design process. This included a day at the Pervasive Media Studio, Bristol, a public interim pitch session at the ICA, London and a final pitch at b.TWEEN 08, MOSI, Manchester during the conference.
The final pitches were voted on by online audiences, members of the public and b.TWEEN’s industry delegation.
Our City Our Music came out as winner and was awarded £10,000 to make their idea into reality.
